Inaki Basauri came out for rugby because his friends convinced him it would be a fun thing to do. He joined the Maryland Exiles, but he was not a naturally gifted player. But he had an outstanding work ethic, and by the time he graduated from Walt Whitman High School in 2002 as a two time USA High School All American. His international status opened doors for a professional rugby career in France and Italy. Inaki also went on to be USA Eagle #378. Today, Inaki is the player/coach for Nantes Rugby in France.
